Grimalkin Sea

The cove slumbers, a riveted, slow dream.
Ships roll still on in gentle tides, like kittens in their soft beds,
carefree,
small but mighty,
instinct ensconced in fur.
Sails and wooden bones, pointed upward,
whiskers of these little ones,
anchors of claw and tooth,
masts under the moon with bright eyes,
seeing what no human sees,
scenting what no one else can sense.

Waves drift in delicate music, gentle with no fear as their paws touch timbered vessels.
Conveyances with stories to tell, dreams in water, under the Moon's mothering gaze.
Muted worlds, without sudden breakers to frighten kittens of wood and hewn osseoum,
little feet with berries for toes.

Tiny ears with whisping down for an auricle.
Serene and delicate slumber,
patterns of the dark and deep,
feline sailing drums,
a dozing vigil kept by mouser wee ones.
Such a dulcet vigil watching the old moon, eyes ascendant in encompassing curiosity!

Let them yawn, tiny pink tongues in a haven, drawing around to bed down.
Sweet and sharp peepers, narrowing with each bat.
Zealously endeavouring to keep watch over the harbour's visage, to persist awake against Sleep's impossible lure, made even more irresistible by the lack of years that make a baby kitty, a young sea, so very drawn to slumber.

Tranquility unique, they find and pass on to apostles of the feline,
to all who savour the gaze upon the world held by snippet-sized cats.
A peace like no other given to those who find a distinguished article of love upon which to pour affection,
in the curve of a wee felis catus noggin,
or in the inimitable, seasoned wisdom, and peculiar mischief of a grimalkin set a'sail.

Silent comfort in this bay of reverie and prescience, upon this precursor to the sea -- the feline bay, found slumbering under shadow and the Moon's downward peer.
The charm of fur metaphorized as water;
A silent comfort in ripples racing by the dock's legs, Madly dashing along to the shore with a focused nonchalance.

The embrace of the cat-like ocean, touching the distant and sunset-flushed sky with a soft paw,
Convening in fellowship with the night orb Luna upon the horizon so far away.

Alas and now, a rhymed concluding phrase, here to find.  Joining the attached artwork, and we with feline mind.
This petite kitty of sea and her reckless grace, purrs of contentment within an untroubled space.
